Here are a few more benefits of having excellent content marketing strategies:

  • Establish authority and trust – You can use your blog to share expert opinions and advice. Readers will consider you as an authority in your field, while also seeing you as being more trustworthy.
  • Build brand awareness – Useful content (like infographics or videos) with your brand logo attached to it is ideal for creating brand awareness.
  • Expand beyond your website – Take your content marketing efforts further by working on different platforms in multiple formats. Try out podcasts or webinars. Create content for platforms like YouTube or Instagram. Maybe you can give TikTok a try? This will allow you to expand your online presence further into other platforms and not just remain within the confines of your website.
  • Improve SEOSaaS SEO is crucial for businesses that fully operate from their website. SaaS brands use content to drive traffic to their blogs. They then redirect that traffic to their products and signup pages.

Now that you have a better idea of what content marketing can do for you, lets take a look at those 7 powerful content marketing strategies.

1. Host Giveaways to Give Back

Tap into your customers’ competitive spirit with a giveaway. Consider offering something like a free product or service! A fishing guide might offer a free tour, or a subscription box service might offer several free months, for instance.

Giveaways are great for connecting with your audience because you can reward them for their engagement and loyalty. Everyone loves free stuff! Plus, giveaways can help you generate more leads and followers, increase your engagement, and boost your brand awareness.

Think about how you can use content marketing to promote your giveaway. To announce your contest or giveaway, you could post on your blog, create a video of the rules, and share this content on your social media.

Fortnite and Ironman VYPER Giveaway

Promote your giveaway regularly during the contest period; you could answer FAQs or do an unboxing of the prize, for instance. The idea of winning a giveaway will engage your audience and encourage them to click and learn more each time they see your relevant posts.

If you’re not sure where to begin with, a giveaway campaign, Vyper is here to help. We have various tips and strategies to help ensure your giveaway is successful and lands you the best leads possible.

For example, some of our recommendations include:

  • Show your brand name at the top of the giveaway web page
  • Offer a prize relevant to your audience
  • Ensure your contest copy is clear and concise
  • Make sure the contest page displays correctly on both mobile and desktop
  • Make it clear to your audience how they enter the giveaway

Pro Tip:

Need help creating content? Ask your audience. User-generated content is excellent for sharing on social media and on your website. You can host a UGC Contest that will produce tons of user-generated content fast.

For example, Starbucks asked their audience to buy a cup of coffee, doodle on the empty cup to create a fantastic design, snap a pic and upload it to the Starbucks Facebook page. This contest produced an endless amount of user-created Starbucks designs which were repurposed on their website.

2. Anticipate Their Questions and Create Content to Answer Them

One great way to build a relationship with your customers is by responding to their questions. If you can anticipate common questions and answer them in your content, they will feel like you understand them.

Do some research to find out what types of questions your customers are asking. To start, check in with your customer service team to see if there are common queries they get. Creating content that answers these questions will save your employees time and assist with customer interaction

You can also utilize keyword research. Answer the Public is an excellent tool for finding out what sorts of questions people are asking about a given topic.

Say you run a candy store — typing in the word “chocolate,” for instance, results in questions like, “what chocolate is vegan,” and “what chocolate is gluten-free.” Basing your content on health questions like these is a great place to start.

And it looks like this piece of content is working well for him because, when you search “how to sell products on TikTok” through Google, his site ranks on the first page.

3. Create Free Tools They’ll Find Valuable

Everyone likes free stuff! If you can create a free tool that will make your ideal customers’ lives easier, they’ll be more likely to spend money with you in the future when they are eventually looking for a service like yours. Think about how you can incorporate free tools into your content.

You can create a free email template, an eBook, an online calculator, or a virtual try-on feature. However, the tool you create is dependant on your business. So, it would be best if you made something related to your products or services.

If they like their finished products, they’ll be more likely to seek out Canva for any future graphic design needs, even if they have to pay.

4. Show Customers the “Behind the Scenes” of Your Business

The more people know about your business, the more connected they’ll feel to it. There are many different ways to create content that shows behind the scenes of your work.

You could write blog posts about your business decisions, film vlogs or Q&A live streams, or put together a “meet the team” page. These are all types of content that will put faces to your business!

Powered by Search does this well with their blog piece outlining why they decided to rebrand as a B2B SaaS marketing agency. They outline the events that led up to this decision, the reasoning behind the shift, and how they differ from other B2B SaaS companies.

This type of transparency can help with building a connection with your audience. It helps their audience feel involved in the decision-making process while also showing their audience that their needs are being considered.

By making a decision tree, you can learn more about your audience’s decision-making process.

5. Make Your Content More Engaging with Visuals

Visuals can help to make your content more engaging. It’s an ideal way to grab your audience’s attention.

One way you can incorporate visuals into your content is through data visualization. Suppose you want to provide your audience with a lot of statistic-heavy information or explain a complicated process. In that case, an infographic or video can help to get the details across in an engaging and easy-to-digest way.

Hosting a Makeup Giveaway Infographic

The above is an example of an infographic (for a makeup giveaway) that can be placed within your blog posts. You can summarise the info from your article into a single convenient infographic which can also be shared on social media and other platforms.

Its also crucial to back up your text with a complimentary image like a screenshot. Screenshots are better than standard stock images at providing visual context while delivering your point efficiently.

Illustrations and original photos are excellent for making your content more engaging, as well. They can help break up large walls of text or uniquely explain your points. You can even consider generating art using AI for a unique, customized visual touch to your content.

Not everyone wants to read a long article about every subject, so you might consider adding supplementary videos or diagrams to help your audience better understand your content.

6. Publish User-generated Content on Your Website

User-generated content offers a fantastic way to connect with your audience!

UGC can be published in the form of customer comments and reviews, customer images, or even blog posts written by people who love your brand. User-generated content creates trust, showcases authenticity, and helps drive purchasing decisions.

Just make sure you always request permission from your customers before reposting their content, even if you’re collecting it from a branded hashtag.

Asking through a DM or comment only takes a minute and can prevent you from getting in trouble with copyright concerns. Be sure to credit the original creator in your repost, as well!

Vivadogs UGC Example

Take a look at how Vivadogs, a monthly dog subscription box service, does this well. Right on their homepage, they invite their viewers to use the hashtag #vivadogs on Facebook or Instagram.

This can potentially lead to a shoutout on Vivadogs page, promoting the user’s pup to internet fame! It’s charming, cute, and encourages customers to talk about their products online.

You can also make use of a marketing calendar plan template to help you keep your UGC publishing schedule coherent.

Content such as:

  • How-to guides

Bonus: Creating Content Silos for YouTube

Owen Video shared a useful strategy that consists of creating “video silos” for your YouTube channel.

Basically, You choose about 3 types of videos to focus on such as:

  • How to videos
  • Product reviews
  • Testimonials
  • Story base
  • Reaction videos

Then you focused on creating content for these 3 types of videos. Eg. How Pewdiepie creates regular “meme review” videos, this is one of his silos! Then Pewdiepies “Pew News” is another silo focused on delivering the latest news in his world.

You can follow the same strategy with 3 silos, then add more silos once you have perfected the silos you have. You can also drop silos that are not working out.

Here’s more on this intriguing strategy below in our interview with Owen Video:
